Today am going to show you how to repair all the inverter brands that uses the control boards below.
MUST INVERTERS, FELICITY INVERTERS, KAMA POWER, POWER STAR, ETC. and some other popular inverters uses the same control board but only branded with different names.
POWER INVERTER REPAIRS 3
MUST, POWER STAR, FELICITY INVERTER
FAULTS ON THESE INVERTERS
The inverter displays every fault with a unique code, these fault codes starts from 01 to 09. Explanation of the error code is shown below;
INVERTER ERROR CODE O1 AND ERROR CODE 04
These errors means there is either a problem with your fan or your system temperature is very high.
Error 01 can also occur if the temperature sensing NTC shorts.
This fault usually occurs when the fan PWM clock pin fails (The middle pin of the 12V Fan).
Solution:
2. Change fan
3. check the board for components in the circuit below;
ERROR 02 (overload)
Overload simply means given more load to the inverter than its designed for.
In case there is no such overloading and the system is saying overload then change the resistors in the circuit below
ERROR CODE 3 AND ERROR 7 (OUTPUT SHORT)
This code means either your drive signal is not going through or output mosfets has failed.
solution
1. Check all mosfets for failure
2. Check all gate resistors for burnt and opening. (47 ohms each resistor)
3. check the drive circuit below
ERROR CODE 5
This error means your battery is below a set value and the batteries needs recharge.
ERROR CODE 08 AND ERROR CODE 09
check the battery sense circuit below and increase or reduce the related resistors.

I have much experience working with these kinds of systems, and from your explanations, I must say that you know your stuff quite well. I learnt a lot. However, the battery sense circuit is the voltage divider circuit connected directly to the microcontroller. The circuit you showed above is for the battery threshhold cutoff, so when your inverter shows an abnormal voltage and cuts off, chances are it is not from the circuit you posted above, but from the actual resistors that feeds directly to the microcontroller. That aside, your blog is really educating.

DeleteError 09 for must LF inverter is battery over voltage, while for the HF inverters, its usually bus soft start failed. Is your inverter transformer based, or transformerless?

boht refused to return to grid supply power.
if the grid is off, it changes to battery supply.
when the grid returns, it doesnot return to grid supply

Replace the fan. Error 01 means that either fan has failed, or fan PWM pin is not working or fan mosfet has failed.
DeleteThere has been instances where error 01 has been micro controller fan pin shorted. In that case the micro controller needs to be replaced.

ReplyDeleteI have a 3kw 24v must inverter, it comes up with code 9. I noticed that the battery voltage is 28.8 volt at the inverters input, and it goes up internally in the inverter slowly ( about 45 min) till 32volt and the inverter turns it self off. after reset the inverter it starts up again and the process starts allover again.
Do you have a solution for this problem
1.cut the resistor close to the MCU where they have written "cut if too high" or replace with a lower value.
DeleteIf it doesn't work then use option 2 below.
2.Replace MCU. The same mcu works for all voltage systems. 12V, 24V and 48V.
try changing all the battery sense resistors. R89 and R90 are in series. Change them both. The values are 100k and 499k respectively. R07 Is 100k. If u can't get the smd version, through hole version still works. Just use 1/4w. Thanks.
DeleteEinstein thanks for the info.. I have 12v 1.5kva and the board got burnt so i found the 24v board i change the voltage sence resistors value of R89, R90. and R07 the voltage from the screen display very okay but the it doesn't drive the signal to the drivers? Any thing else?

ReplyDeleteHello, that would be great. After many years my 6kW inverer failed. Bad electrolytic capacitors fried LM324 to death. Capacitors changed, LM324 replaced. Goes on, but with ERROR. Then two burnt resistors near TLP250 found, probably two zener diodes bad as well. Replaced. Now it works, but show 75% load and resistors gets hot very quickly, in few seconds, would burn again. Schematic will help to move further. I will appreciate and donate.

1. Check if any capacitor is swollen
Delete2. Check if the output filter capacitor is ok. Usually it should between 3.3uf to 4.7uf.
I guess its a transformer inverter.(low frequency)
